Pumping puts repeated pressure on already sensitive breast and nipple tissue. If hard plastic flanges feel pinchy, rigid or painful, these soft silicone flanges offer a more comfortable alternative—with multiple sizes to help you find a better fit.

  • Soft silicone feel
  • Multiple flange sizes
  • Designed with an IBCLC
  • BPA-free material

FAQ

Finding Your Size

Finding the right flange size matters. A flange that is too small may cause rubbing and friction; a flange that is too large may pull more areola into the tunnel and leave nipples sore or irritated.

Idaho Jones recommends measuring the base of your nipple and trying a Cushy Flange that is 0 to 4mm larger, with many users preferring approximately 2mm larger than their nipple measurement.

Example:
If your nipple base measures 17mm, try a 17mm to 21mm flange, with 19mm as a suggested starting point.

Pump Compatibility

Cushy Silicone Flanges work with many popular breast pumps, either directly or with an additional connector, depending on your pump setup.

Compatible pumps may include:

* Ameda
* Ardo
* BabyBuddha
* Cimilre
* Lansinoh
* Medela
* Motif
* NCVI
* Spectra
* Unimom Opera
* Zomee

Review Idaho Jones’ compatibility guide before purchasing to confirm whether your pump requires an additional base connector.

How to Use

Choose the size that best fits your nipple measurement and pumping setup. Attach the flange directly to your compatible pump or use the required connector. Position the flange over your nipple and begin pumping according to your pump’s directions.

Pumping may feel briefly uncomfortable at the start of a session, but ongoing pain is a sign that something may need adjustment. Recheck your flange size and speak with a lactation consultant if discomfort continues.

More Information

Discomfort and sore nipples are common in the early days of pumping, but pain that continues throughout a session is not something you should simply push through. Learn why flange sizing matters, what can contribute to pumping pain and when to seek help from a lactation consultant.
