Why is our Lactation Latte Fenugreek free?

For centuries, certain herbs and foods have been used in different cultures to promote breast milk production.
While fenugreek has been a go-to herb for lactation support for many years and works well for some women,
Anyone with hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, as it has been shown to impact thyroid function.
Those with a peanut or legume allergy

Hypothyroidism is common during pregnancy and often continues through lactation.

It occurs when the thyroid doesn't produce enough thyroid hormones (as it involves T3 and T4) and can require treatment from an OBGYN or physician.

Because these thyroid conditions and allergies are common and many people are unaware of fenugreek's potential effects, we've chosen to exclude it from our blend to prioritize our customers' care.

That said, if you don't have a thyroid condition and your doctor approves, fenugreek can be a great herb for lactation support. However, all lactation herbal supplements should be avoided during pregnancy—fenugreek in particular has been shown to trigger uterine contractions.
